Meet Pastor Philip
Loyal Husband, Father, Mentor
Philip Bryant is the grateful husband to Beth, an incredible partner for over 30 years, father of five, and doting grandpa to three. For over 20 years, he’s been on a mission, planting churches from coast to coast in Canada. He’s channeled that passion for the past seven years into coaching and guiding other church leaders and congregations.
Philip’s heart beats for God, his family, and seeing lives transformed by Jesus. He dreams of a vibrant community where Jesus, deep relationships, and love for one another are at the core.
Join him in this journey as we seek to build a fellowship full of grace here in Aldergrove!
Grace Fellowship Aldergrove’s Beliefs
God
God is the Creator of the universe, and eternally exists in three coequal Persons: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s authoritative Word to mankind, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is inspired by God and without error.
Jesus
Jesus, both fully God and man, sacrificed Himself for the sins of all people by dying on a cross and rising from the dead. He will return one day.
Humanity
Humanity was made in the image of God but fell into sin, separating mankind from God. Only by trusting in God’s offer of forgiveness through Jesus Christ can a person be rescued from sin and eternal separation from God. Eternal life with God begins when one receives Jesus Christ by faith.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit makes people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He gives every believer spiritual gifts and guides them in right living.
The Local Church
The local church is a group of believers committed to living in Biblical community with each other to fulfill Jesus’ command to make disciples. Key practices of the local church include believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper. All believers are members of the universal Church.
Coming to Aldergrove
Continuing Our Journey in Western Canada
With the help of their community, they were able to completely renovate and curate a space for Grace Fellowship Aldergrove and the new head office of Grace Fellowship Canada.
Grace Fellowship Canada – History
Following the launch of Grace Community Church, the movement expanded steadily across Canada. In 2001, Renew Campus opened in Milton. Philip and Beth Bryant relocated to Vancouver in 2005 to advance the church planting vision on the west coast, leading to the start of Community of Hope in 2007 through a partnership with Cedar Grove Baptist. The momentum continued in 2011 when Grasslands Church was planted by three families from Surrey, BC and two families from Mississauga. Renew continued growing with the Mayfield West Campus launching in 2017 and a fourth campus emerging in Cambridge.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant challenges to the network, resulting in the loss of several churches and campuses. However, in January 2024, Grace Fellowship Canada relaunched its mission with renewed focus on strengthening the remaining Fellowship churches and establishing new church plants throughout Canada. Today, the network includes Renew Church (formerly Grace Community Church) in the Greater Toronto Area and Community of Hope Church in Surrey, BC. With renewed vision and commitment, Grace Fellowship Canada is moving forward to plant new churches throughout Canada, beginning with a launch in Aldergrove, BC.
In the summer of 1997, three families moved to Mississauga with a vision to see a movement of churches planted throughout all of Canada. Led by Nathan Bryant, Philip Bryant, and Bartley Sawatsky, this church planting team had been officially commissioned in 1996 in Toronto by the Charis Fellowship in partnership with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
